Process Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Overview of position:

Responsibility to lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives within the Manufacturing and Materials organizations.  This position will also establish capacity plans and related work standards for the aforementioned areas as well.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for products/processes to support plant objectives of safety, cost, quality and service
  • Review existing and new products for ease of manufacturability and make recommendations that will enhance the quality and producibility of the product
  • Lead and participate in project team activities involving process improvements, value analysis, design reviews, product transfer and startup and new product introduction
  • Support production floor in the review and analysis of manufacturing procedures, make recommendations for manufacturing methods and coordinate projects that will result in economical manufacturing costs and/or enhanced quality
  • Perform duties that utilized up-to-date tools and techniques in simulation modeling, cost estimation, manpower planning, productivity, Kan-Ban and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate programs based on long-range activity forecasts including analysis, justification and recommendations for facilities equipment and/or manpower requirements
  • Be the key driver of the Operational Excellence/Lean initiatives by providing industrial engineering expertise for assembly processes, methods, manufacturing systems and technologies that will result in quality designs and manufacturing systems that are innovative, cost effective and support plant goals
  • Using time and motion studies, and/or pre-determined time systems (4M/MTM), evaluate and maintain standards of production throughout the ISI’s manufacturing operations
  • Lead/apply Kaizen and/or other Lean Manufacturing methodologies to analyze ISI manufacturing equipment, processes and layout
  • Recommend and assist production supervision in implementing required changes
  • Train and assist other Team Members of ISI in the use of methodology, process control and project management techniques to achieve assigned goals and objectives
  • Travel as required, to participate in Kaizen events or other company related activities
  • Working with plant layout, equipment layout, process optimization and lean manufacturing related principles
  • Work with production and material teams at all levels to implement continuous improvement
  • Drive and support Lean Manufacturing implementation

Requirements:

  • Some travel required
  • Skills and ability to teach all levels of the organization
  • Strong experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience in implementing visual controls
  • Engineering Degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering
  • Manage many projects concurrently
