Business Transformation Analyst

Location: San Jose, CA

Summary

To lead on business transformation and process re-engineering around the Procure-to-Pay area from a CFO organization perspective. This job will play a key role as a “Subject Matter Expert” in the upcoming R12 upgrade initiative.  It will help in conceptualizing business case justification for senior management approval as well as project funding.  The job will help in managing and monitoring the tracks as per the overall roadmaps/plans.  Will also help in discovering, modeling new or improve profitability and return value back to the shareholders.

 

Job Description

  • Business lead for corporate-wide change analysis and design identifying the organization’s strengths and weaknesses and working with the business to define often complex areas of improvement and change
  • Establish, manage, direct and advise cross-functional review teams to define and articulate business change and business process improvements
  • Work with senior finance managers and senior business managers from across the organization to develop process, data & application models to justify potential improvement costs and to identify potential cost savings
  • Discover and conceptualize initiatives around the related functional area
  • Facilitate and negotiate business case buy-in from Directors, change managers and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and change
  • Advised on and facilitate negotiations with senior managers to obtain the best outcome for the company where improvements and efficiencies cut across organizational boundaries and budgets
  • Work with program/project managers and change managers to ensure the benefits defined in the business case and subsequent benefit delivery plans are delivered, using base lined models and performance statistics
  • Manage the project initiation process with Point of Record (POR) documentation
  • Present business case justification and ROIs to senior management for approval
  • Discover & document requirements for new initiatives as well as enhancement requests where required
  • Evaluate, compare and facilitate decision making around business solutions/applications including the Vendor Management
  • Take liaison role to communicate the business needs to the IT teams around the functional area
  • Monitor & report IT progress to the business stakeholders
  • Work in close collaboration with business management and staff to ensure that user requirements and constraints are understood and that sensitive areas affecting service provision are identified early
  • Produce test plans and scenarios on behalf of the business and coordinate/manage testing to ensure that product and processes are acceptable before becoming operational
  • Be a gatekeeper for all business configurations and maintaining the health check of the functional areas around these configurations
  • Build desktop procedure to help business to move into a process driven organization rather than a people driven one
  • Advise and direct managers and staff on the implementation of new systems and ways of working, facilitating management and staff through the change process

 

Requirements

  • Familiarity with business analysis techniques and tools, e.g. swim lane diagrams
  • Extensive knowledge in Procure-to-Pay business process flows and challenges
  • Writing business cases (including cost/benefit/payback analysis)
  • Writing business functional requirements specifications
  • Designing test plans and writing test scripts

  • Experience in a business transformation role in the Procure-To-Pay area on an Oracle R12 environment
  • Experience in Transformational upgrade into Oracle R12 environment from a Direct or In-Direct Procurement to Pay perspective
  • Writing Point of Records, business requirements documents etc.
  • Producing test plans/scripts and training plans
  • Written and presented business cases to senior management including cost/benefits and return on investment analysis
  • Analyzed and redesigned business processes using standard business process re-engineering techniques, e.g. swim lanes diagrams
  • Managed business change process improvements that have delivered improved service delivery and reduced costs
  • Ability to quickly comprehend complex business processes and people issues across the organization and deliver measurable improvements
  • Negotiating business change opportunities with senior managers to obtain buy-in, funding and resources
  • Managed or worked on software development projects
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Have completed appropriate formal training in process re-engineering and change management, eg, Lean or Six Sigma is a plus
