Production Planner – Level I

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Summary:This position is seeking a creative and flexible individual to help support the Production Planning activities for the Instrument and Accessories.
The Production Planner I will work with Manufacturing and is responsible for scheduling the production of assigned products, with the objective of maintaining established finished goods targets, meeting customer service goals and efficiently utilizing manufacturing resources. The planner is also responsible for escalating production scheduling issues to Planning, Manufacturing and Engineering Supervision.
Develop daily build plans that meet customer demand. Results should meet operation target of demand rate, while minimizing total inventory cost. Analyze product backlogs, Safety stock & Kanban targets, on a daily basis.

Job Description:

Creation and distribution of execution level production schedules; conferring daily with operations leadership and production management/supervision.
Support and maintain Product level shortage reports.
Expedites operations or raw materials in support of production schedule objectives.
Sustain standard work for production control & planning programs.
Maintain department metrics, analyze trends and results.
Support Engineering change order (ECO) implementation activities.
Adhere to all manufacturing operating policies, guidelines and procedures.
Comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Engage and support various NPI tasks related to product transitions to sustaining manufacturing lines.
Provides production interface for quality issues.
Resolve work order variances, and determine/track root cause. Work with Cost Accounting for month end close.
Present Production Planning reporting for daily production meetings.
Escalation of identified issues that may prevent the team from completing critical key manufacturing targets.
Confers with Sr. department members to determine status of assigned project action items.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a progressive manufacturing environment, 2 year degree preferred, experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry.
Have the ability to operate in a regulated industry with working knowledge of ISO and regulatory restrictions. APICS certification a plus.
Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and MRP systems. SAP and Agile experience preferred.
